Haridwar is located in the foot hills of Shivalik ranges at the bank of holy river Ganga. Bhagirath was blessed and the holy river descended on the earth and its water revived the son of King Sagara. Following the tradition of Bhagirath, devout Hindus stand in the sacred waters here and pray for the salvation of their ancestors.
Haridwar is also famous for Kumbh and Ards Kumbh fairs that are held once in every 12 and 6 years respectively. Millions of devotees assemble here during the auspicious occasion and take a dip in the holiest river of India.

Har ki Pauri : It is the most sacred Ghat of Haridwar, built by Kind Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhatrihari. Other famous places to visit at Haridwar are Maya Devi Temple, Mansa Devi Temple, Deksha Mahadev Temple, Chandi Devi Temple, Sapt Rishi Ashram and Sapt Sarovar.
